The Beacons (2-5) hit the road to play in Carroll College's Comfort Suites Classic, looking to put an end to a five-game losing streak.
CARROLL: Bushnell opens up against the tournament hosts on Friday night. Carroll (5-2) comes into the tournament ranked No. 23 in the NAIA, although they have split their last four contests after a 3-0 start.
The Saints have a potent offense led by three players averaging at least 13.6 points per game. Andrew Cook and Jonny Hillman lead the way, averaging 15.3 points per game While Brendan Temple, a pre-season All-Frontier Conference selection, averages 13.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 60% from the field.
The teams faced off for the first time last season with Carroll claiming a 76-71 overtime victory in Eugene during the Beacon Classic. Temple scored 18 points for the Saints while
Stevie Schlabach chipped in 18 points for the Beacons.
MSU-NORTHERN: Saturday will find the Beacons face off against Montana State-Northern for the first time, dating back to at least the beginning of the NAIA era.
The Lights come into the weekend a 7-1 with a recent victory over Carroll in Frontier Conference play.
Three players average over ten points per game for MSUN, led by senior Jesse Keltner with 10.9 ppg as he is shooting 65.5% from the field. Tanner McCliment-Call is close behind with 10.6 points per game with 18 three-pointers through eight games.
