EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball team rallied after a slow start, but Corban was able to put the Cascade Conference opener on ice with a strong second half, topping the Beacons 84-66.

Corban (3-0, 1-0 CCC) shocked the Beacons out of the gate, climbing to a quick 10-0 lead after just three minutes. The Warriors built the lead to as many as 19 and were ahead 33-14 with 6:49 remaining in the half when the Beacons made a run.

Cory Johnson and
Kaden Sand hit back-to-back three-pointers, launching the home team to a 18-4 run to close out the half. The Beacons made it a five-point game at the break, 37-32.

A quick layup by
Stevie Schlabach brought Bushnell to within three points to open the half, but Corban never relented, shooting 61% in the second half as they pulled away for the CCC victory.

The Beacons (2-3, 0-1) shot 43% in the game, but were just 1-for-6 from three-point range in the second half. Schlabach finished with a game-high 22, shooting 7-for-11 from the field.
Trevon Richmond added 13 while Johnson came off the bench to add ten points and five rebounds. Sand led the Beacons with six boards.

Corban had five players in double-figures, led by 15 from Mateo Escheik. James Carlson added 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds off the bench, along with two blocks. Darius Henderson posted 11 points while Taylor Anderson and Andrew Stafford each scored ten. Anderson led all players with five assists.
