No. 8 Lancers Pull Away for Victory

WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Bushnell men's basketball team fell to No. 8 Grace College on Saturday in the final game of the Cascade-Crossroads Classic, 89-66.

Grace (3-0) shot 58% in the game including an 8-for-15 night from three-point range, pulling away after a competitive start to the contest that saw the teams tied at 21-21 after ten minutes.

The Beacons (2-2) finished the night shooting 38% as they were just 4-for-16 from distance. Kaden Sand and Luke Smith tied for the team lead with 13 points apiece while Spencer Hoffman (pictured) added 12 points with a game-high nine rebounds.

The Lancers had five players in double-figures, led by 19 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks from Elijah Malone. Malone was 4-for-5 from distance.

Head Coach Eddie Alexander said, "This has been a great trip to find out where we are as a team. We now know exactly what we need to do to be a national tournament team. We have the skill, we just have to put it together defensively for an entire 40 minutes."

Bushnell will be back in action on Tuesday night as they head to an exhibition contest against Oregon State University in Corvallis at 8:00 pm.
