SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Â
Faith Palmer has been with the Beacons for two seasons. She played in 28 games and made 14 starts. She was a two-sport athlete with the Beacons, also competing with the women's track team. Palmer was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor Roll and was an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Â
Head Coach
Benny Flores said, "Faith's first season was one of learning but this year she came ready to play. She won a starting position and because of her hard work and personality, won a team Captain position. She is always communicating on and off the field. I can always hear Faith and Emily way before I see them. Faith, thank you for your hard work and dedication to the program."
Â
Bailee Reed has been with the Beacons for two seasons. She started 21 games including all 16 games as a junior. Reed was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor roll and was an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Â
"When Bailee committed to Bushnell, I knew that we were getting a quality player," said Flores. "But I didn't know what a high-quality person she was. I had the opportunity to drive back from an away game, and she was in the passenger seat of the van. Getting to talk to her for about three hours was a privilege. I remember thinking, 'Bailee is alright!' It takes a special person to make an impact on a team when you are hurt. Bailee did that very thing this year!"
Â
Karla Cardinal has been with the Beacons for three seasons. She has played in 45 games and made 36 starts. Cardinal scored one goal and recorded four assists during her career. She has been an Academic All-CCC selection and a member of the Athletic Directors Honor Roll.
Â
Flores said, "Karla is more than just a soccer player. She has the ability to relate to all kinds of people. She is what I like to call a glue person. After Karla's first season, she knew she could make a bigger impact on the team, and she spent the last two years becoming that player. I am really honored to be the coach for Karla and am excited to see what God has in store for Karla."
Â
Fani Cossio has been a member of the Beacons for three years, playing in 35 games with 34 starts. The defender has one assist in her career, assisting on a game-winning-goal against Pacific Union as a junior. She was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor roll.
Â
"I knew the minute I saw Fani play at her Junior College that I needed her to come to Bushnell," said Flores. "She has the talent and toughness that I love to see in a player. Every time that she goes on to the field, you know that she is going to give you everything that she has. Fani has left a legacy for our younger players to follow. I will miss seeing her smiling face at practice next year."
Â
Blake Danna has been with the Beacons for three seasons, playing in 44 games with 43 starts. She has scored one goal in each of her three seasons and was a 2020 All-CCC honorable mention selection. Among Blake's numerous academic accolades was being named the Outstanding Graduating Exercise Science student by the Bushnell faculty. She was also an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-CCC, and Athletic Director's Honor Roll recipient.
Â
"Blake has been an incredible addition to the Bushnell Family," said Flores. "The thing that I love about Blake is that she has a burning desire to win. I saw this in her when she played at her Junior College. Blake was always asking how to get better or showing me how much she pushed herself in the weight room. Blake is going to be missed next year. I am excited to see what God has in store for her!"
Â
Brooke Molina has been with the Beacons for three seasons, playing in 42 games and making 36 starts. She scored her first goal earlier this season against Pacific and she was a 2020 All-Conference Honorable Mention Selection.
Â
Flores said, "I remember when I recruited Brooke, she told me she was going to go to a school in California. I was totally bummed. A month later she called me and asked if she could come to Bushnell. It was a great day! Brooke has been a leader from the beginning. She was voted ALL Conference her first year, which was a great accomplishment. I am really excited to see what God has in store for her and I know she will be great!"
Â
Dejah Wallot has been with the Beacons for three seasons, playing in 39 games with 36 starts. She has scored six goals and six assists in her career including five goals and three assists this season. She had a two-goal game against Providence this year, and is now ranked sixth in school history for assists and ninth for total points. Wallot was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor roll and was an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Â
Flores said, "Dejah is a one-of-a-kind person. She brings that Southern California feel to Oregon. She has improved her game each year she has been at Bushnell. This year she seems to have found herself and that has resulted in her being able to put the ball in the back of the net. Dejah is also one of the hardest workers on the team. I know that she will be a big success in anything that she puts her mind too. Thank you for all your work, Dejah!"
Â
Sarah Estifanos has been with the Beacons for four seasons, and has played in 32 games, making two starts. She has earned multiple academic all-conference awards and was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor roll.
Â
"Sarah's relationship with Bushnell goes back a long time," said Flores. "It is going to be weird not have her around next year. Sarah is not only a good player, but she is an incredible person. She got hurt this year and she could have complained and become disengaged, but she was the leader that I know that she is. I hope that she knows that she is more than just a soccer player but an incredible young person! We will miss Sarah next year!"
Â
Rebecca Potts has been with the Beacons for four years, playing in 51 games while making 19 starts. She was a member of the Athletic Directors Honor roll and has been an Academic All-Conference selection.
Â
Flores said, "Becky is one of those players you just naturally like. She is one of the hardest workers on the team. She went from not getting much playing time to being a part time starter this season. As coaches we have dreams of greatness for our players. That they would be great on the field and great in the classroom. Becky has completed the dream. A great player and now she is going to be a great teacher. Becky, thank you for taking us coaches on your journey to greatness! We will miss you, Miss Potts!"
