Beacons Shocked by Eagles in Final Road Game

Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash.  – A difficult road venue made even tougher with senior night thrown in, the Bushnell Beacons were knocked off by Northwest University on Saturday evening, 25-20, 26-28, 25-18, 25-17.

Bushnell (17-11, 12-8 CCC) hit .124 for the game but the Eagles had a .262 attack percentage while out-blocking the Beacons 10-5.

Head Coach Jason Corwin said, "Northwest played inspired volleyball on their senior night. We did not have an answer for their middle attack. We battled, had some chances to get on a roll but couldn't find a rhythm in time. We have learned some things that we need to improve on before our final league matches next weekend."

Callie Wilkins was a bright spot for the Beacons in the loss, collecting 28 digs along with two of the teams' seven service aces. Halle Neumann led the way with 13 kills, Makenna Northern posted 44 assists, and Payton Jones scored nine kills on .350 hitting with three blocks.

Bushnell returns home next weekend for their final two games of the regular season. They will look to clinch a post-season berth against Walla Walla at 2:00 pm on Friday.
