SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Playing their first home game in nearly a month, the Bushnell men's soccer team fell to Southern Oregon University on Friday afternoon, 3-1, in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at the Les Schwab Sports Park.
Southern Oregon (10-5, 7-3 CCC) held a 26-4 shot advantage over the Beacons as they held on to their fourth-place slot in the CCC with just two games remaining.
The Beacons (4-11-1, 2-9) had shots from
Michael Ho,
Juan Palacios, and
Caleb Burke, along with a successful penalty kick for
Alejandro Munoz (pictured) in the 36th minute to account for lone score of the game for Bushnell.
SOU went ahead in the 11th minute as Adrian Villegas scored off a pass from Sam Walker. Just four minutes later, Walker accounted for what would become the game-winner, off a pass from Alan Gaytan. Gaytan went on to add an insurance strike of his own in the 73rd minute.
Beacons play host to Oregon Tech on Saturday afternoon while Southern Oregon travels to take on Corban. Both games are scheduled for 3:00 pm starts.
