BILLINGS, Mont. – The Bushnell men's soccer team scored first, but Rocky Mountain came back to claim a 2-1 victory on Saturday in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Â
The Beacons (4-10-1, 2-8 CCC) were out-shot 17-9 in the contest but kept shots-on-goal even at five apiece. The Bears improved to 7-5-1 on the season, 5-4 in CCC games.
Â
Bushnell capitalized on some aggressive play out of the gate and found the back of the net first in the seventh minute. A long, lofted pass from
Zander Harer out of the back found
Caleb Premo on the right cusp of the 18-yard box. Premo hit a one-timed strike into the left-side upper V for his third goal of the season.
Â
Just before halftime, Rocky Mountain found the scoreboard as Niklas Kneller connected off a pass from Igor Soares. RMC went on to grab the game-winner in the 78th minute.
Â
After a six-game road stretch, the Beacons will return home to close out the regular season with three more games. First up will be a clash with Southern Oregon (9-5, 6-3) at 3:00 pm on Friday.
