Joel Kambou (pictured) scored with under five minutes to play on Friday, helping Beacons avoid the clean sheet as they fell to Carroll College, 6-1, in the Cascade Collegiate Conference opener for both schools.

The Beacons (0-4, 0-1 CCC) had a rough day as they faced a 38-9 discrepancy in shot attempts. The Saints took 20 shots-on-goal, forcing Bushnell keeper
Julian Hernandez into 14 saves. It was the second-highest save total of his career.

Carroll (1-2, 1-0) scored four goals in the first half to put the contest away, including the first three within an early eight-minute span. They added two more in the second half before Kambou took a long pass and beat the keeper with a 15-yard strike for his first goal as a Beacon.

Bushnell will return to action on Sunday, traveling to College Place, Washington to take on Walla Walla University at 2:00 pm.
