EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell volleyball team added two more wins on Friday as they continued play in the Warrior Classic, hosted by William Jessup University. Bushnell swept 3-0 victories from both Simpson University and Menlo College

Jessica Northcutt said, "This has been a great way to start the season. Everyone is contributing and coming together. I love our team unity and team wins today and I can't wait to see us at our full potential."

"We are still finding out team chemistry," added senior
Jackie Harmon, "but I feel like we make a huge leap today. We had a great team effort and I can't wait to get back in the gym tomorrow for the last game of the weekend."

Bushnell 3, Simpson 0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-21)

The Beacons opened with a sweep of the Redhawks, although it wasn't all smooth sailing. Simpson held a 17-8 lead in the second set, only to see the Beacons close on a 17-2 rally.

Bushnell had a strong .277 attack percentage in the contest, had eight service aces and six blocks. Leading the offense was
Shay Coons who posted a match high 12 kills while hitting .526. Matty Ladd added four kills and four blocks while
Callie Wilkins led all players with 12 digs.
Makenna Northern had a match-high 27 assists and
Camille Guerrero contributed four aces.

Bushnell 3, Menlo 0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-12)

The Beacons had to work for it, but were still able to get the job done in sweeping fashion in the night cap, hitting .182 against the Oaks while posting nine service aces including three from
Callie Wilkins. The defense was on-point, including an impressive third set in which Menlo hit -.152 with ten errors.Â

Northcutt was unstoppable on offense, racking up a match-high 12 kills on 20 swings as she hit .450.
Halle Neumann added eight kills while
Shay Coons posted six. Wilkins led the team with eight digs,
Makenna Northern recorded 29 assists and Maddy Ladd had five kills and three blocks.

The Beacons (3-0) will close out the tournament on Saturday morning, playing UC Merced (0-5) at 11:00 am. Head Coach
Jason Corwin said, "This was a good day of learning for us. We are responding well to pressure and we got to see alot of players making an impact. We have one more match to go looking to improve on our consistency."
