CALDWELL, Idaho – The Bushnell men's golf team rebounded from a tough morning round to hold a spot in fourth after two rounds of the CCC Championship at TimberStone Golf Course.
Â
The Beacons were in fifth after shooting a 314 team score during a deluge-filled morning session. The sticks found their way, however, in the afternoon as Bushnell posted the second-best score with a three-over 291. The Beacons moved past Lewis-Clark State into fourth and is just five strokes behind third-place Corban University as they head to the final round on Tuesday.

Freshman
Jackson Muramoto led the individual charge for the Beacons, shooting a four-over 148 to claim a piece of tenth place.
Andrew Webb (pictured) and
Jon Holzgang followed, and were the poster children for the Bushnell comeback. Webb fired a 69 in the second round, closing the day in 14th (150), while Holzgang shot a 71 in the afternoon to claim 15th.
Â
Caden Stubbs (78-78—156, 18th) and
Cole Radbourne (96-82—178, 33rd) rounded out the results for the Beacons.
Â
Bushnell sits in a unique spot heading into the final round on Tuesday, fighting battles on multiple fronts. The CCC Championship tournament is led by Multnomah at +11, followed by Oregon Tech at +17. Corban is third (+24), followed by the Beacons (+29). The winner of this tournament earns the CCC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship.
Â
Also at stake for the Beacons is a chance to claim their first-ever regular season CCC Championship. They entered the tournament in first place in the standings, and should be in position to claim the title with a third-place or higher finish. Â
Â
In addition, Holzgang heads to his final 18 holes with a chance to earn a CCC Player of the Year award, given to the player with the lowest stroke average over the course of the conference season. The senior is one of four players from four different schools who all sit within two strokes of each other for the top-four spots in the conference.
