EAGLE POINT, Ore. – Erasing a three-shot deficit to Multnomah on the final day of play, the Bushnell University men's golf team jumped into a second-place tie with the Lions at the Oregon Tech Invitational, wrapping up at Eagle Point Golf Club. Â

Oregon Tech won their own event with a three-round score of 913, defeating both the Beacons and Multnomah by 21 shots (934). Lewis-Clark State followed in fourth at 937, The College of Idaho took fifth (946), Corban was sixth (951) and Walla Walla was seventh (1061).

Andrew Webb led the Beacons, claiming a fifth-place tie in the individual standings, shooting a 73-74-81—228. He finished five shots behind OIT's Mayson Tibbs who posted the only sub-par round of the tournament on Tuesday.

Jon Holzgang (76-80-75—231) followed in tenth place while
Connor Maloney jumped nine spots on Tuesday, firing a 73 to finish tied with teammate
Caden Stubbs in 17th (239).

Maloney said, "It was a great experience traveling together and learning a lot throughout our rounds. Starting the spring season with a tied-for-second finish is a great way to get us rolling. I am proud of everyone's attitude and we are excited to play in our next tournament at the end of March.

Rounding out the Bushnell contingent were
Jackson Muramoto, who took 13th-place as an individual and
Cole Radbourne who finished in 26th.

Larry Watts said, "The men fought hard and played some good golf. I am really proud of their positive attitude and working hard to the last putt was holed. We will take a deserved rest day and then get back to work."

Next up for the Beacon men will be the Lewis-Clark State Invitational beginning March 22 at Clarkston Golf Course in Clarkston, Washington.
