EUGENE, Ore. – After a tough 5-0 loss to No. 16 Corban on Sunday, the Bushnell men's soccer team showed plenty of improvement on Monday before falling 3-0 to the Warriors.
Â
Despite being out-shot 21-3, the game was played closer than the score would indicate as the Beacons defense did the heavy lifting.
Julian Hernandez made a save on a penalty kick for the second day in a row and finished with six saves.

Head Coach
Erik Carrazco said, "The boys played much better tonight against a very tough and very talented Corban team. The boys managed the new challenge of playing the same team twice, and we did some different things from yesterday that allowed us to compete for a lot longer in the match.
Â
"There is a lot for this team to build off of and I think it was actually great to play the No. 16 team in the nation as our first two conference matches because it was a really good measuring stick."
Â
Corban (4-0, 2-0 CCC) got on the board with the game-winner in the 16th minute when Noe Favila was able to draw Hernandez out of the box before passing to Matheus Giron for the score. Â Â
Â
The score remained 1-0 for the next 65 minutes when Corban's Chadwayne Johnson added an insurance strike off a pass from Favila. Then, with just a few minutes remaining, Giron collected a loose ball and fired a shot from just outside and to the right of the 18-yard box, into the corner of the net to complete the brace.
Â
The Beacons (0-4, 0-2) will return to action next weekend, traveling to face Southern Oregon University on Sunday and Monday. Both games will kick off at 3:30 pm.
