ASHLAND, Ore. – Sarah Mauk scored in the third minute and Southern Oregon claimed their second straight shutout win of the Beacons on Monday, 3-0.
Â
Mauk took a midfield pass from Trinity Rhoades and slipped behind the defense for a 12-yard strike with just 2:18 taken off the clock, giving her two game-winning goals in as many days.
Â
Madison Childers added in two insurance strikes for the Raiders, including one in the 11th minute and one in the 54th.
Â
Bushnell showed plenty of day-to-day improvement on defense, as the Raiders (2-1-1 Overall, 2-1-1 CCC) out-shot the Beacons 18-3 and took nine shots-on-goal, nearly cutting in half both numbers. Senior
Rachel Rhoads made six saves as she earned her first collegiate start in goal for the Beacons. Â

Head Coach
Benny Flores said, "The ladies played hard today and we saw our best possession today. We are moving in the right direction. The road to greatness is long and difficult, and the women are committed to the cause."
Â
Bushnell (0-7, 0-4) will head south again next week, traveling to Klamath Falls on Sunday and Monday to take on Oregon Tech (5-1, 3-1). Both games are set for 12:00 pm kickoffs.
