Schlabach Scores 24 as Beacons Fall to Knights

PORTLAND, Ore. – Seven Knights reached double-digit scoring as Warner Pacific University secured a 95-82 win over visiting Bushnell University in Saturday night's Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball contest at the C.C. Perry Gym.

Head Coach Eddie Alexander said, "This was a tough road trip for us this weekend. We felt like we had a great opportunity, but just couldn't get locked in defensively. There will always be tough patches and we hit one this week."

Warner Pacific (6-3, 2-1 CCC) used an 11-2 run to close the first half with a 16-point lead and maintained a double-digit advantage for the remainder of the game. All seven Knights who posted double-figure scoring also hit at least one three as WPU shot 44% from three-point range on the night. The Knights committed just seven turnovers on the game.

Stevie Schlabach (pictured) shot 8-for-13 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free throw line to finish with 24 points for the Beacons, who drop to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Logan Sand and Luke Smith added 10 points apiece. Nico Wolff recorded eight points and eight rebounds.

Bushnell shot 53% from the floor, 39% from beyond the arc and 88% from the free throw line.

"We get a great chance to regroup this week and hit the road to California for an opportunity to be together and get things right as a team," said Alexander.

The Beacons will be back on the court next weekend when they travel to California to take on the University of California, Merced (Dec. 11) and California State University – Maritime (Dec. 12).
