BUTTE, Mont. – The No. 22 Bushnell women's basketball team was outscored 10-2 over the final four minutes on Wednesday as a close game turned into a loss to Montana Tech in the first road game of the season.

The Beacons fall to 0-2 on the young season after shooting 38% and allowing the Orediggers to hit 56% from the field along with a 38-28 rebounding margin.

It was an extremely well fought battle for the first 30 minutes as the teams were tied on 11 occasions and battled through 16 lead changes.

MT grabbed the lead for good with three minutes remaining in the third quarter and held their biggest lead of the game at 69-61 with 7:32 to play in the game. The Beacons battled back to within 74-71 with 4:34 to go, but the Orediggers sealed the game as they pulled away.

Junior
Aspen Slifka posted team-highs with 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss while
Bella Pedrojetti came off the bench to score 14, hitting a trio of three pointers.
Morgan McKinney was also in double-figures, scoring 11 with six rebounds and five assists.

Montana Tech (3-2) had four players in double-digits, led by Brooke Heggie with 18. Tavia Rooney added 14 points, along with 16 rebounds, five assists and five blocks.

Bushnell will look to quickly bounce back as they travel to Helena on Thursday, taking on No. 7 ranked Carroll College at 6:00 pm MDT.
