LEWISTON, Idaho – The Beacons had their most competitive race thus far on Saturday, running in the Lewis-Clark Invitational at the Lewis-Clark State College Cross Country Course. Three of Bushnell's five runners posted lifetime bests in the race.
Â
The Beacons claimed 15th place (382) and defeated NCAA Division I Central Washington University in what was an incredibly fast race.
Â
Once again,
Linus Rueegger led the way for the Beacons, taking 68th-place as he came across the finish line in 26 minutes, 40 seconds for a new personal record, despite dealing with a stomach issue during the second half of the race.
Â
Noah Mancione was next for the Beacons in 110th (27:57, PR) followed by
Christopher Rosebrook in 122nd (28:40) and
Connor Woodcock (pictured) in 123rd with a personal record of 28:41).
Gabe Fatooh rounded out the Beacon contingent in 129th (29:10).
Â
"All-in-all our runners ran really well today in a very strong field," said head coach
Tom Boldon. "We look forward to putting it all together at conference in three weeks."
Â
Next up for the Beacons will be the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, taking place on November 5 in Klamath Falls.
