EUGENE, Ore. – NAIA National Awards Day took place on Tuesday, for the first time including the announcement of all NAIA-Daktronics Scholar Athletes on the same day. 64 Beacons were among those selected.
Â
Previously open only to juniors and seniors, the awards also now include athletes who have recently completed their sophomore season, greatly expanding the total number to give Bushnell the greatest amount in school history. Â
Â
To qualify for Daktronics-NAIA National Scholar Athlete honors athletes must be in at least their second year with the team, carrying a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and hold junior academic status or higher.
