CORVALLIS, Ore. – One of the more impressive streak's in Bushnell history continues as the Beacons were one of eight Cascade Collegiate Conference athletic departments to earn the Presidents' Cup for Academic Excellence for the recently completed 2025-26 school year.
Bushnell has now earned this distinction for 11 consecutive years and remains the only school that has garnered the President's Cup every year that it has been presented in it's current format. This year the Beacons tied for second among full member schools in the Cascade Conference with a 3.48 GPA, with 71% of eligible student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference.Â
In order to receive the designation a department must achieve an overall combined GPA of 3.0 or better among their student athletes (men/women) that compete in sports that the CCC declares a champion in, and have 60% or higher of student-athletes who are eligible to receive Academic All-Conference (sophomore standing/3.2 GPA)Â recognition do so.
"Earning the President's Academic Excellence designation represents the highest academic honor our departments can earn from the Cascade Conference," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "It is a great accomplishment and recognizes the outstanding efforts in the classroom."
