Eugene, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team fell to No. 1 ranked College of Idaho 100-58 on Friday night.
The Beacons (14-15, 9-10 CCC) were outscored 16-0 in the first four minutes of play and struggled to gain any momentum afterward.
The lone bright spot in the loss was freshmen guard
Stevie Schlabach who finished with a game high 22 points and eight rebounds for NCU.
The Coyotes (26-3, 9-10 CCC) finished the evening with six players in double figures, led by Charles Elzie who scored 16 points off the bench. Collectively, C of I shot 49% from the field, and out-rebounded the Beacons 52-34.
NCU will have to erase this game from memory quickly and set its sights on sweeping the season series over Eastern Oregon University tomorrow evening. The Beacons won the last matchup with EOU back in January 109-99.
The Mountaineers (15-13, 9-10 CCC) visit Morse Event center on Saturday for the regular season finale, and senior night with postseason seeding implications on the line. Tip-off is at 7:30.
