                     WOODBURN, Ore. - Junior women's golfer 
Kelsie Hellwege led the way for the Beacons once again, this time firing a career-low 78 as NCU closed out a fourth-place finish at the Multnomah University Invitational.
 
The Oregon Golf Association course was the site of the record round two for Hellwege, who finished off a two-round tournament score of 161, also a career-best and tied for the tenth-best tournament in school history.
 
Tuesday's round proved to be a marked improvement from Monday across the board for NCU as all six golfers lowered their score by at least three strokes. As a team, the Beacons shot a 345, 19 shots better than their 364 on Monday.
 
Hellwege took 12th place (83-78—161) and was followed in 17th by 
Cassidy Krauss (91-84—175) and in 19th by 
Carli Brousseau (92-88—180). Rounding out the NCU contingent were 
Stella Reaka (98-95—193), 
Fernanda Gardea (105-95—200) and in her NCU debut, 
Kaylee Kessinger (125-113—238).
 
Reigning NAIA Champion University of British Columbia won the tournament, followed by Oregon Tech in second and Corban in third.
 
The Beacon women will be back in action on September 23 as they travel to the British Columbia Invitational in Bremerton, Washington. This will be the second of four official Conference tournaments.
