LEWISTON, Idaho. – Closing with their best round of the tournament on Wednesday, the Bushnell women's golf team held on to take sixth-place at the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament at Lewiston Country Club.

After shooting a 340 on Monday, the Beacons added a 341 on Tuesday and closed with a 336 on Wednesday to comfortably settle into sixth-place as they improve one spot over their CCC finish from last season.

The Beacons were 35 shots out of fifth-place (College of Idaho, 982) but held a 44-shot advantage over seventh-place Walla Walla (1061) with Corban (1074) taking eighth. The University of British Columbia won the event at 893, defeating tournament host LC State by 19 strokes.

The University of British Columbia expanded their lead as they sit at 596, 17 strokes better than second-place Lewis-Clark State (613). Oregon Tech is a close third at 616. Southern Oregon and the College of Idaho will fight it out for fourth-place as the schools are tied at 650.

Bushnell was led by freshman
Jaylee Hix, shooting 82-84-82—248 to take 23rd place.
Kylee Smith (pictured) closed with her best round of the tournament and claimed 24th place (86-85-82—253), while
Jada Richwine followed in 26th (86-84-87—257).

Morgan Schlesinger took 28th (86-88-85—259) while
Hailey Smith finished in 38th (103-89-99—291).

The CCC Championship also serves as the final regular-season tournament for the conference, where Bushnell ended the year in sixth-place as well with a combined record of 7-20, easily out-pacing Walla Walla who took seventh at 2-25. The University of British Columbia also won the regular season title, taking all four tournaments for a final record of 27-0.
