Salem, Ore. – Northwest Christian University opened their 2019 soccer season in a loss Friday night to Willamette University. The Bearcats outscored the Beacons 5-0.

Willamette started the game hot as Lacey Jones scored an unassisted goal four minutes into the game. The Bearcats scored again to take the 2-0 lead going into halftime before adding three more goals in the second half. The Beacons were outshot 29-2 for the game as they attempted their only two shots, both shots on goal, in the first half.

Makenna Hadaller recorded eight saves in goal for the Beacons.

NCU (0-1) will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they play host to George Fox University at 7:30 pm. They will then head to California to take on California State University-Maritime on August 30 and Academy of Art on August 31.
