EUGENE, Ore. – No. 12 Corban University needed four sets to do it, but defeated the Northwest Christian University volleyball team on Tuesday, 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 25-20. With the loss, NCU drops to sixth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and will need some help in the final weekend of CCC action in order to qualify for the post-season.

The Warriors (17-7, 14-4 CCC) hitting attack was on point throughout the match, finishing with a .298 attacking percentage as they produced 59 kills and just 20 attack errors. Corban out-blocked the Beacons 11-8 and out-dug the visitors 61-43.

NCU struggled on the offensive end, but still managed to avoid the sweep with a dominant third set in which they hit .353 with 15 kills. Individually,
Cambria Lingenfelder (pictured) had a strong night on the outside, hitting. 300 with 12 kills and eight digs.
Halle Neumann added nine kills and four blocks while Peyton Jones posted a team-high four blocks.

Makenna Northern did her part, flirting with a triple-double as she collected a match-high 30 assists along with 11 digs and seven kills, hitting .353.
Kayla Olson led the team and tied for the match-high with 11 digs.

Corban was led by Avari Ridgway who hit .483 with 17 kills. Cassie Cunningham added 14 kills while Sarah Randall posted eight kills and seven blocks.

The Beacons (18-10) will head into their final regular season game with a 10-9 mark in the CCC, one-half game ahead of Evergreen for the sixth and final playoff spot. The Beacons will need a loss from Evergreen in one of their final games on the road at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon, along with their own victory over Walla Walla on Saturday night, in order to guarantee the final slot. Otherwise, final playoff seeds will be determined by conference tiebreakers.
