Eugene, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University men's soccer lost in Cascade Conference play on Saturday as they fell 5-1 to Southern Oregon University. After a 1-1 tied match going into halftime the Raiders scored four second half goals to give them the conference win. 

Adrian Villegas and Kelly Gieber led the Raiders (8-5-1, 6-2-1) as they each posted a goal and an assist in the victory. Villegas and Alan Gayton scored back to back goals in the 62-minute marker to put the Beacons away. SOU outshot the Beacons 30-5 with a 21-3 shot on goal advantage.  

Junior Jovanny Sanchez led the Beacons (2-9, 2-8) scoring a solo goal on an a Paul Zarkin assist with just under one-minute remaining in the first half. Goalkeeper Julian Hernandez was outstanding as he talled 15 saves with 11 coming in the first half.  

The Beacons will return to action Saturday, October 26 as they take on Corban University at the Les Schwab Sports Park at 3:00pm.
