College Place, Wash. - The Northwest Christian University volleyball team moved to one game behind .500 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play after sweeping Walla Walla University, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.
The Beacons (13-8, 5-7 CCC) were able to complete the sweep behind a stellar first set where they hit .333 while holding the Wolves to .000 attack percentage. NCU had eleven players with at kill or more in the match as they hit .272 overall. Natalie Downes had a game-high eight kills with a .412 kill percentage while Shay Coons, Jessica Northcutt and Payton Jones each added four kills to help the visiting Beacons.
Caldora Blackburn led the Wolves (1-18, 0-12) with four kills and seven digs. Jenn Bolser and Sydney Teel added four kills each in the loss.
NCU will play next on Friday, October 18 as they take on Northwest University at the Morse Event Center at 7pm.
