Mounties Handle Beacons For 17th Straight Win

LA GRANDE, Ore.  –Proving to be worth every part of their No. 13 national ranking, the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers cruised to a 38-point victory over Northwest Christian University on Saturday evening, 89-51.
 
The Mounties (17-2, 11-0 CCC) shot 56% in the game while holding the Beacons to just 31% shooting and forcing 20 NCU turnovers. EOU jumped out to a 20-13 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
 
The Beacons (8-14, 4-8) were led by Jenna Christenson who went a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range and was the only NCU player in double-figures with 11. Conner Borigo came off the bench to score nine points and five rebounds while Claire Salness chipped in eight points, hitting a pair of triples.
 
Eastern was led by reigning CCC Player of the Year Maya Ah You Dias who scored 23 points on 10-for-13 shooting and led all players with nine rebounds. Madison Crews went 5-for-5 from the field hitting three treys to score 13 points along with ten assists and Maren Herrud came off the bench to score ten.
 
Northwest Christian will be back in action on Friday night, returning home to take on Northwest University at 5:30 pm.
