LACEY, Wash. – After three weeks of training camp and four junior college scrimmages, the NCU women's soccer team finally got their official season underway on Saturday, falling on the road to Saint Martin's University, 4-0.

The Saints held a 30-7 shot advantage in the game and took 13 shots-on-goal. NCU keeper
Katie Hastings was busy, finishing the night with a career-high nine saves.

Saint Martin's began the scoring in the 23rd minute and added two more scores in the opening half. They continued to pepper the goal in the second half but only added one more score on 16 shot attempts.

NCU managed four shots-on-goal, getting one apiece from
Kara Mathison,
Libby Gregory,
Aracely Marks, and
Rachel Rhoads.

The Beacons will be back in action on Sunday for the second of a three-games-in-three-days stretch, heading to Salem to take on Willamette University at 2:00 pm.
