LACEY, Wash. – Ernest Ugoagu and Tyrus Hosley combined for 50 points but the Beacons were out-paced in the second half, losing in an exhibition with Saint Martin's University on Monday night, 94-74.
 
The teams combined to shoot 50% in the first half as the Saints pulled out to a 56-50 lead at the intermission. The Beacons went cold in the second half, hitting just 26.7% of their shots including a 2-for-11 performance behind the three-point line.  
 
Hosley scored 30 points for the Beacons as he went 5-for-6 from outside. Ugoagu added 20 points and led the Beacons with three steals. Davonte Cleveland came off the bench to score 11 and Austin Tyner added ten. Shawn Carson scored just two points but owned a team-high eight rebounds as the Beacons were out-boarded by SMU, 45-33.
 
The Saints (3-1), who included the late addition game to their counting schedule, had five players in double-figures. Chandler Redix hit three three-pointers and scored 15 points, adding eight assists while BJ Standley came off the bench to score 14 points and six assists. Rhett Baerlocker registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
 
NCU will return to action next Tuesday night as they open up Cascade Collegiate Conference action at home against rival Corban University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
