LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon claimed at least a share of the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season championship on Sunday as they defeated the Beacons, 2-0.

The Mounties (13-1-2, 9-1-2 CCC) out-shot the Beacons 30-4 in the game, including a 16-2 edge in shots-on-goal. Freshman

EOU scored their first goal in the 33rd minute on a Taylor Boyer strike after a service pass from Josee Bassett. Then, 20 minutes into the second half the Mounties added an insurance goal with an unassisted success by MacKinley Gregus, her tenth of the year.

The Beacons (2-11-1, 1-8-1) will return home for their final weekend, beginning with a Friday evening meeting with Warner Pacific University at 7 p.m.
