SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Host Northwest Christian University held on for a two-shot victory, winning their first ever Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, taking place at Springfield Golf Club.

The Beacons also earn the CCC automatic bid and their first ever trip to the NAIA National Tournament, May 16-19 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

Entering day two with a six-shot lead, the Beacons survived a Corban University comeback attempt, winning 606-608 with Warner Pacific a close third at 612, just six shots off the lead. The College of Idaho finished fourth, followed by Oregon Tech in fifth and Walla Walla University in sixth.

NCU's
Josh Goins became the first back-to-back CCC tournament medalist in seven years, shooting a 72 to finish the tournament at two-under par. The last player to win CCC medalist honors in consecutive seasons was Will Snow in 2009 and 2010. His win also gives NCU their third champion in four seasons, joining current NCU coach
Tyler Falk who won the 2014 title.

Goins (70-72—142) claimed a two-stroke victory over CCC Player of the Year Montana Frame who shot a 71 on Tuesday and finished with an even-par 144 during the two-round event. Warner Pacific's Jacob Berg and Kasey Crossland from Corban tied for third at 145.

NCU's full team played a pivitol role in securing the championship, with numerous rounds-below-average for the Beacons. On Monday,
Austin Dame and
Paul Smoot each posted 77s while on Tuesday it was sophomore
Levi Dean who fired a 74, four shots better than his first-round score.

Dean finished the tournament at 152, taking seventh place. Dame followed in 12
th (157) and
Jack Singleton was 13
th (158). Smoot rounded out the scoring in an 18
th-place tie (160).

During the award ceremony to close out the event, All-Conference, Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards were handed out. NCU's
Tyler Falk was selected as the 2017 CCC Coach of the Year after a vote by the conference coaches. He is believed to be only the second former CCC Player of the Year in any sport to go on and win a Coach of the Year award as well (Aaron Lewis, Corban Men's Soccer).
