EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's basketball team has won six straight games for the first time in school history after an 85-75 victory over Multnomah University on Saturday night.

The Beacons (11-6, 8-2) shot just 40% in the game and survived a night in which the Lions were 29-for-55 from the field, thanks in large part to 15 steals and nine three-pointers.

Multnomah (4-13, 2-7) was led by Lacie Kamper, shooting 12-for-19 from the field to score 26 points. Miranda Schmillen added 15 and a team-high five rebounds while Faith Kraatz contributed 11.

NCU was led by
Monique Thompson (pictured) who had her fifth 20-point scoring performance of the season with 26. The junior was 11-for-12 at the free-throw line and also collected game-highs with three assists and three steals.
Jenna Christenson provided a deep threat off the bench, shooting 4-for-7 from outside as she scored 17 points.
Niki Duncan added 16.

The victory was NCU's eighth in conference and with an Eastern Oregon loss on Sunday, the Beacons moved into a three-way tie for second-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference as the first half of the conference schedule came to a close. The team will play host to Eastern on Friday night at 5:30 p.m.
