LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team has now played four straight one-goal games against Eastern Oregon as the Mounties defeated NCU 2-1 on Sunday.
Â
It was another close game as EOU (2-1) held a slim 6-5 advantage in shots-on-goal. The Beacons (3-3) had nine total shot attempts.
Â
Eastern put the first notch in the scoreboard in the 15th minute as Madissen Ostergaard scored following a give-and-go pass with Nan Kiebert. They would take the 1-0 lead into the intermission.
Â
NCU wasted no time in getting rid of the zero on their side of the ledger as
Emily Miller scored her fifth goal of the season, taking a pass from
Sierra Graton just three minutes into the second half and hitting the webbing.
Â
Eastern quickly broke the tie eight minutes later when Yasmin Mookerdum scored unassisted.
Â
The Beacons return home this week and will face Northwestern College of Iowa on Friday at 5 p.m.
