PORTLAND, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team took the first set on Friday night but couldn't get anything going after that, falling to Warner Pacific 22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.

The Knights (6-5, 5-4 CCC) out-blocked the Beacons 9-6 and did something that few teams have been able to do as they held NCU to just one service aces while collecting nine of their own.

NCU (5-10, 3-6 CCC) was led by
Taylor Burnett (pictured) who posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs.
Maci Beierle added 34 assists while
Cassidy Winters finished with seven kills and four blocks.
Keri Schwarz led the team, hitting .238 with nine kills.
Haley Damian posted a team-high 12 digs.

Warner Pacific was led by Janessa White who collected 17 kills, hitting .395. Janessa Mast added ten kills. Kealia Rosa put together an impressive stat line, leading all players with 42 assists and four aces and Brandy Velasquez wasn't far behind as she owned 21 digs and three aces.

The Beacons will look to rebound on Saturday evening when they travel across town to take on Multnomah University at 5 p.m.
