HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. – Playing their third and fourth conference games at Hood View Park, the Beacons were defeated in a double-header sweep by Oregon Tech, 10-2 and 8-0 on Wednesday.

The Owls (10-11, 5-1 CCC), currently receiving votes in the NAIA national poll, collected 21 hits on the day including six long balls. In game two, pitchers Kelly Scott and Ali Graham combined on a no-hitter.

The Beacons (7-19, 3-5) collected six hits in the first game including two singles from
Anita Singh and another home run from
Ashlee Cole. The sophomore now has nine home runs on the season and sits one off the lead in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and needs two to tie the NCU single-season record.

For the Beacons,
Katie Walker (1-7) took the loss in game one while
Janieve Boyles (2-5) suffered the defeat in game two.

NCU will return to action on Thursday, playing at Eastern Oregon University for a double-header beginning at 12 pm. Â
