PORTLAND, Ore.  – For the first time ever, NCU has won 16 consecutive games, setting the new school standard with a convincing 100-79 victory over Multnomah University.

The Beacons (23-4, 16-1 CCC) have not lost since December 6 when they faced Southern Oregon University in the second conference game of the year.

NCU shot 53% from the field and turned the ball over just six times. Multnomah (4-21, 1-16) shot 40% from the field and hit 17 three-point field goals.

Northwest Christian was led by
Javonte Byrd, scoring 18 points as he shot 8-for-10 from the field.
Donta Harris came off the bench to score 17, hitting a team-high trio of three-pointers.
Jay Mayernik added 12 points and
Omar Richards finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds. NCU out-rebounded the Lions for the night, 46-33 behind the strength of 14 rebounds from
Austin Kuemper (pictured).

Multnomah had four players in double-figures as well. Jason Wyncoop scored 21 points with six three-pointers and Ben Grandle added 17 points with five trifectas. Blake Updike scored 14 and Thomas Simien added 13 along with a team-high seven rebounds.

The Beacons will look to extend the streak on Saturday night when they take on Warner Pacific at 7:30 pm. Â
