CALDWELL, Idaho – Roosevelt Adams hit a late three-pointer and No. 24 College of Idaho hit four free throws in the final ten seconds to hold on to a 65-60 win over No. 7 Northwest Christian University on Friday night in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.

The Beacons were in position to tie the game with three seconds remaining, but a
Jack Hackman three-point attempt went off the rim and the Yotes capped it with a pair of free-throws from Eugene native Emanuel Morgan with one second to play.

NCU mounted a strong comeback to even get into the conversation as C of I led by as many as 15 points late in the first half.

The Yotes were ahead by ten points at halftime but the Beacons methodically shaved down that disadvantage in the second half, eventually garnering a brief 56-55 lead on a pair of free-throws from Anthony Walker with 1:44 left to play.

C of I took back the lead on their next possession with a three pointer from Dominique Jordan and with 49 seconds to play
Jay Mayernik tied the game for the Beacons with a layup. Adams hit his big triple on the next possession and the home team hung on for the win.

NCU (8-2, 2-1 CCC) was led by Mayernik who finished with 20 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Kylor Kelley added seven rebounds but NCU was out-muscled on the glass, 45-32 and allowed 20 offensive rebounds to the Yotes. Kelley also scored eight points and had six blocked shots.

In just his third year at NCU, Hackman (pictured) completed his run at history early in the first half when he hit a three-pointer to become NCU's all-time leader in triples. He cashed in on his 142nd and 143rd treys to surpass his former teammate,
Javonte Byrd who recorded 141 in his three-year career.

The Yotes (9-4, 2-1 CCC) were led by Adams who finished with 13 points. Aitor Zubizarreta added 12 points and Aziz leads collecting ten rebounds including seven on the offensive glass. The College of Idaho shot just 34% in the game.

The Beacons will have another tough test on the road on Saturday night as they travel to La Grande to take on No. 16 Eastern Oregon University at 7:30 p.m.
