Almost everything that went right for the Beacons on Friday night went wrong on Saturday as the University of British Columbia claimed an 80-66 victory.

NCU (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season as they shot just 37% from the field and were held 34 points under their scoring average. The Thunderbirds (9-1) forced 18 Beacon turnovers.

The Beacons were led by
Jay Mayernik, pumping out another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as he shot 6-for-9 from the field. For the second straight night,
Kylor Kelley broke the school blocking record, this time collecting seven stops to go with eight points and six rebounds.

After an 0-for-7 shooting effort in the first half, Anthony Walker (pictured) rebounded to finish with 16 points.
Jack Hackman hit four three-pointers and scored 13 points.

The Thunderbirds were led by Conor Morgan, scoring 27 points as he shot 12-for-18 from the field and added a team-high nine rebounds. Phil Jalalpoor added 15 points.

NCU will be back in action on the 19th of November when they head to Salem to take on Willamette University at 7 p.m.
