Beacons Top Multnomah, 2-0

PORTLAND, Ore.  – The Northwest Christian University men's soccer won their second straight game on Friday night and tied the school win record with a 2-0 victory over Multnomah University.

The Beacons (7-4-2, 3-3-2 CCC) out-shot the Lions 16-11 and held MU to just three shots on goal. Beacon Keeper Yayo Olvera picked up his third clean sheet of the season, setting a new NCU single-season record for shutouts.

The Beacons didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard as Alex Abalan connected in the 14th minute, getting the ball off a rebound and firing home the eventual game-winner from ten yards out.

NCU scored again in the second half, also off a rebound as Raul Segoviano punched one in during the 55th minute.

NCU will look to set a new single-season win record on Saturday night when they travel to face Walla Walla University at 7:30 p.m.
