EUGENE, Ore. – The final volleyball game of the season didn't go the way that Northwest Christian University would have liked, but it did provide one final shining moment for seniors
Kayla Ping and
Chandler Gabrio. The pair combined for 25 kills, 18 digs, five blocks and three service aces as NCU fell to Oregon Tech, 25-12, 17-25, 25-23, 27-25.

NCU rebounded after a dismal first set, hitting .429 in the second to even up the match 1-1. The teams played two closely contested sets with the Owls coming out on top each time.

Gabrio finished with a match-high 13 kills for NCU, adding two aces. NCU's all-time leader for blocks added five more, including a solo block and four block assists. Ping recorded one final double-double, securing 12 kills and 15 digs.

Laurie Salness contributed 39 assists and 11 digs for a double-double of her own while
Haley Damian closed out a dominant weekend with 28 more digs. Senior
Chloe Davis also made her final appearance for the Beacons, grabbing three digs during the first set.

Oregon Tech was led by Kelsey Sampson, collecting 13 kills, 16 digs and three blocks. Bailey Nelson added 11 kills and Alexa Burdett finished with seven kills and a match-high 6 blocks. Tori Porter led the team with 27 assists and had 15 digs while Brooke Malloy led the team with 22 digs.

The Beacons end the season with an overall record of 14-13 including a 7-13 clip in the Cascade Collegiate Conference to claim eighth place.

Oregon Tech finishes in sixth place (15-11, 10-10 CCC) and heads to the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament.Â
