PORTLAND, Ore. – Nobody played for more than 22 minutes on Wednesday night and senior
Omar Richards made the most of his, scoring 21 points to lift NCU to a 108-56 victory over Portland Bible College.

The Beacons (3-0) shot 58.6% from the field and led 62-23 as the non-conference clash was never in doubt. The defensive effort was on full display for NCU once again, forcing 31 Wildcat turnovers and collecting 17 steals.

Richards had his best game since joining the Beacons as a junior, shooting 8-for-9 from the field including a pair of three-pointers. He added six assists as well.

Javonte Byrd kept his early season hot streak going, adding 15 points, five steals and four assists. Freshman
Kenny Blackwell scored 12 while
Jordan Alexander came off the bench to record ten points.
Remi White was once again the Beacon leader on the glass, collecting seven rebounds. The junior is averaging 9.3 rebounds per game to lead the team.

Portland Bible (0-1) was led by Matthew Martin, scoring 11 points. Javon Lue added ten points and six rebounds while Troy Flanagan led the team with seven rebounds.

The Beacons have scored over 100 points in a game for three straight games for the first time in school history. They will look to keep the hot streak going next Tuesday when they play host to New Hope Christian College at 7:30 pm.Â
