Box Score 2CALDWELL, Idaho - The Northwest Christian University softball team pulled off their first win over the College of Idaho in seven tries on Tuesday, knocking off the #22 ranked Yotes in game two of a double-header, 3-2. The C of I took game one, 8-0 in five innings.
Nickayla Skinner tossed a four-hit shutout in Game one for the Yotes (16-10, 8-6 CCC), striking out six, to pick up her tenth win of the season. She was helped by a four-run sixth inning, including a three-run homer from Paige Gabiola.
The Beacons (5-18, 4-8) rode the arm of
Janieve Boyles in Game two, allowing just five hits and working around five walks. RBI doubles from
Addy Hoskins and
Chelsea Hannon (pictured) helped the NCU attack, with Boyles stranding the tying run at second base to end the contest. Hoskins finished the game batting 3-for-4.
NCU will return home to face Oregon Tech on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in a double-header pushed up two days from the originally scheduled Friday clash.
