OLYMPIA, Wash.  – In a battle of winless teams, The Evergreen State College pulled out their first conference victory on Saturday night, topping Northwest Christian University, 65-52. The game marked a return to the court for Hannah Frederick who had missed more than a month due to injury.

NCU scored the first three points of the game and the teams were tied at 5-5 following a basket from Andrea Gloss. Evergreen scored the next eight points to establish a lead they would not relinquish.

Frederick came in off the Bench to lead the Beacons with 13 points, shooting 5-for-10 from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Gloss added 12 points and Demarea Caples contributed eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Sami Pitts tied for the game-high with five assists and two steals.

Evergreen (7-4, 1-3 CCC) had four players in double-figures, led by Brittany Gray with 13 points. Uriah Thomas added 12 points as did Sadee Jones who also posted 16 rebounds. LaNieci Weatherspoon scored ten points and had five assists.
