OLYMPIA, Wash. – In a battle of winless teams, The Evergreen State College pulled out their first conference victory on Saturday night, topping Northwest Christian University, 65-52. The game marked a return to the court for
Hannah Frederick who had missed more than a month due to injury.

NCU scored the first three points of the game and the teams were tied at 5-5 following a basket from
Andrea Gloss. Evergreen scored the next eight points to establish a lead they would not relinquish.

Frederick came in off the Bench to lead the Beacons with 13 points, shooting 5-for-10 from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Gloss added 12 points and
Demarea Caples contributed eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
Sami Pitts tied for the game-high with five assists and two steals.

Evergreen (7-4, 1-3 CCC) had four players in double-figures, led by Brittany Gray with 13 points. Uriah Thomas added 12 points as did Sadee Jones who also posted 16 rebounds. LaNieci Weatherspoon scored ten points and had five assists.

The Beacons (4-7, 0-3) will be away from the court for two weeks, returning to action on January 2 when they play host to Southern Oregon University at 5:30 p.m. to resume CCC action.Â
