EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian University was only able to come out of the weekend with a split after falling in three sets to Southern Oregon University on Saturday, 25-23, 25-14, 25-23.

Â
NCU chipped away, eventually climbing to within one point, 22-21 on a combo-block from McGowan and
Juniper McDonald. Â After trading service errors, Motade Atanda was able to seal the first set win with two kills. Atanda had seven kills in the set.
Â
The Beacons never led in the second set as Southern Oregon opened up a 13-5 lead. The Beacons got as close as five points but SOU rolled to the win with 13 kills and just three attack errors in the set.
