Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team opened up their final weekend on Friday night, falling to Oregon Tech on the road, 79-60. The loss eliminates NCU from post-season consideration.
The Beacons were unable to complete what would have been the first ever season sweep over OIT. NCU was also looking for their first win at Danny Miles court since the 1985-86 season, before it was even named after the long-time head coach.
OIT jumped out to 6-0 lead and never trailed in the contest, leading by as many as 18 points before taking a 38-23 lead into halftime. The Owls improved their advantage to as many as 28 points in the second half, but the Beacons closed out the game on a 15-6 run over the final five minutes to keep the game to within 20 points.
NCU was led by
Trevor Parker (pictured), scoring 16 points including a 4-for-6 mark from three-point range.

Brody McGowan came off the bench to score seven points and a team-high six rebounds. NCU shot 44.7% in the game and was out-rebounded 33-24.
Oregon Tech (16-14, 7-11 CCC) had four players in double-figures, led by 19 points from Kyle Waits. David Clarke added 17 points, ten rebounds, four assists and three steals and Mihajlo Matic came off the bench to score 14. OIT was 48% from the field and hit 12 three-pointers in the contest.
Head Coach
Corey Anderson said, “Our effort defensively was just not there tonight. We shot the ball well in the second half but we dug ourselves into too deep a hold to get out, especially on the road. OIT played an inspiring brand of basketball tonight and we did not.”
The Beacons are now 7-38 all-time against the Owls, including a 1-25 mark in Klamath Falls. NCU returns to action on Saturday night, traveling to face Southern Oregon University to close out the season at 7:30 pm.
