Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team won their second straight game on Saturday night, defeating George Fox University, 69-57.
Assistant Coach Chad DePaoli said, "It was a great defensive battle tonight and we had a balanced offensive attack with all five starters scoring at least eight. We are showing that we are really ready to move into conference play as a team."
The Beacons (5-4) were led by
Trevor Parker, scoring 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
Jordan Buhler and Mitch Wilson each scored twelve while
Brian Hampton added ten. Buhler led the team in rebounding with eight.
NCU, who has now won two games in a row against the Bruins, shot over 50% from the field and forced 16 turnovers.
George Fox (1-3) was led by Sean Atkins, scoring 14 points. Mike Taylor and A.J. Grant each scored 13 in the loss.
The Beacons will return to action on Friday when they travel to Ashland to open up Cascade Collegiate Conference action against Southern Oregon University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
