EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team finally ended an eleven-game conference losing streak on Saturday night, knocking off Southern Oregon University on the road, 71-63. It was the fourth straight win for NCU in Ashland and the ninth win in the last ten meetings with the Raiders.
Head Coach
Corey Anderson said, “This was a well deserved win for the guys. They have stayed positive and focused through this time and they were rewarded tonight with a win.”
The Beacons hit on 61% of their shots in the second half including a 5-for-9 clip from three-point range, rallying from a 43-39 deficit with just over eleven minutes to play. Anderson said, “We went 'little' towards the end of the game with both
Jordan Myers and
Brian Hampton on the floor. With the change our offensive attack was at full strength and they weren't able to counter our quickness.”
The Beacons were led by
Kellen Spicer, scoring 19 points as he shot 7-for-11 from the field hitting a pair of three-pointers.
Quentin Guidry added 13 points and
