SALEM, Ore. – Northwest Christian was active on the offensive side of the ball on Saturday night, posting a 102-90 victory over Willamette University. The Beacons shot a scorching 57% from the floor and hit nine three-pointers.

The Beacons (3-2) had six players in double-figures and were led by senior Kellen Spicer, scoring 23 points and nine rebounds on 10-for-15 shooting. Spicer and Brian Hampton each had a trio of three-pointers and Hampton finished with 16 points and a team-high six assists. Quentin Guidry dropped in 17 and Brent McKee scored 14. Cameron Marshall added a double-double to the mix, scoring 13 points and ten rebounds. Jordan Buhler came off the bench to score eleven points in just twelve minutes of action and the NCU reserves out-scored the Willamette bench, 19-0. Northwest Christian also out-rebounded the Bearcats, 45-32.

Willamette (1-2) was led by Sean Dart, scoring a game-high 31 points, adding 12 rebounds. Taylor Mounts added 22 points and Robbie Kunke led all players with ten assists and three steals. As a team, the Bearcats collected nine steals while forcing 22 Beacon turnovers. Willamette shot 42% but were just 4-for-21 from three-point range.

This was the first 100-point game for NCU since they crossed the century mark in a 103-102 loss to Walla Walla early last season. The Beacons have gone over 90 points just five times over the past three season. Northwest Christian returns to action, and returns to the Morse Event Center on Tuesday night, playing host to George Fox University (0-2) at 7:30 pm.
