EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian University shot a season-low 29% from the field and finished with a season low scoring effort on Thursday in a 63-46 loss to Oregon Tech.
Trailing by seven points at half, the Beacons hit on just 5-of-24 field goal attempts in the second half as they watched the Owls pull away. NCU did make good on 80% of their free-throws in the contest, but were at the line just ten times, compared to 28 trips for Oregon Tech. The Owls out-rebounded the Beacons, 46-25.
NCU (7-7, 1-4 CCC) was led by
Jenneca Crocker (pictured, left), who hit a trio of three-pointers and finished with 13 points and a team-high four rebounds.
Katie Collins shot 67% from the field and scored ten points and
Aly Bruns led the team with four assists.
Oregon Tech (10-8, 3-3 CCC) got 20 points off the bench from Jazzy McDaniel, who was 7-for-8 from the field and scored six off of free-throws. She also had 12 rebounds. Brittany Cherry also had a double-double, scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds, along with five assists and a pair of steals. Cherry pulled down nine offensive rebounds in the win.
The Beacons will return home to face Concordia on Friday, January 1st. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
