LEWISTON, Idaho - The Northwest Christian University women's basketball team stumbled out of the starting block on Monday evening, falling to Lewis-Clark State College on the road, 87-48. The Warriors, currently ranked #16 in the NAIA Division I coaches poll, out-rebounded the Beacons 42-27 and held a 34-3 scoring advantage at the free-throw line in the victory.
Head Coach Liz Turner-Bolton said, “This game was a good learning experience for us against a great team. We executed pretty well, but fouled way too much to stay competitive.”
The Beacons committed 28 fouls in the game, mostly in an effort to slow down the LCSC inside game, although it was guard Nikki DePeel who took advantage for the Warriors, shooting 11-for-12 at the line. DePeel finished with a game-high 22 points for LCSC.
Northwest Christian (0-1) was led by nine point efforts out of both
Lori Renner (pictured) and
