Beacons Shutout by Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Northwest Christian gave up three goals in less than a minute of play in the second half and Dylan Durrell registered a hat trick as the Beacons lost to Oregon Tech on Tuesday, 5-0.
Things got off on the wrong foot for NCU in the 22nd minute when defender Kenny Sale dropped a ball back to goalie Stephen Melgar. Melgar slipped and fell on the play just as the ball was passed back and the ball slowly trickled into the goal for the first score of the night.

Durrell went on to score his first goal of the night just two minutes later, taking a pass from Leo Keiser, beating a defender and scoring into the right side of the net. The Owls took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Four minutes into the second half Durrell scored again, forcing a turnover on a ball deflected by a Beacon defender. Just fourteen seconds later, The Owls would go up 4-0 as Durrell completed the hat trick with his third goal, punching in a seven-yard strike off a cross from Antonio Jaimes.

Durrell wasn't done for the night, however, and just 40 seconds later he assisted on a goal by Dallas Bille.

For the game, Oregon Tech (8-4-1, 5-3-1 CCC) outshot Northwest Christian (1-12-2, 0-9-2 CCC) 19-9, holding the Beacons to five shots on goal.

The Beacons will be back in action next Tuesday when they play host to conference-leading Warner Pacific. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm kickoff.
